Python

The language that ties automation, data and AI together.

Python is the language we use most outside the frontend: scripts that move data between systems, processes that used to be done by hand in spreadsheets, and the layer that connects AI models to the rest of an application. Its strength is not speed. It is that almost everything that matters in data and AI today has its main library in Python. That is why this selection does not stop at syntax. We looked for courses that get you building early: a script that solves a concrete problem, an API with FastAPI or Django, an analysis with pandas. We left out the ones that spend hours on exercises with no context or carry habits from old versions of the language. You will find Spanish-language courses to get started without a language barrier, plus the English reference courses, which tend to be the first to update when an important library changes.

Who it is for

  • Complete beginners who want a first language they can build something useful with early on.
  • Analysts and operations people who live in spreadsheets and want to automate what they repeat every week.
  • Developers coming from other languages who need Python to work with data or AI models.
  • Anyone who wants to do backend work in a readable language with a mature ecosystem.

What you will learn

  • Solid language foundations: types, data structures, functions and error handling.
  • Virtual environments and dependency management, which is where almost every beginner gets stuck.
  • Automation scripts: reading files, calling APIs and scheduling tasks that run on their own.
  • Backend work with FastAPI or Django, and when each one makes sense.
  • pandas and the groundwork to move on to data analysis or AI model integration.
  • Type hints and tests, so a script that grew does not become untouchable.

Recommended order

  1. Language fundamentals with a course that has you writing code from the first lesson, not just watching.
  2. Automation: a script of your own that solves something you do by hand today. It is the best proof that what you learned stuck.
  3. Then pick a branch: backend with FastAPI or Django, or data with pandas. Doing both at once spreads you thin.
  4. AI and machine learning last, once you can read other people’s code without effort.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to learn Python?

The basics take one or two months at an hour a day. Getting to useful scripts or a simple API usually takes three to six months, and depends more on how much you practise on your own problems than on the course you pick.

Python or JavaScript as a first language?

Python if you are drawn to data, automation or AI; JavaScript if you want to build websites and web apps. Both are good first languages, and the second one comes much faster than the first. What does not work is switching back and forth during the first months.

Django or FastAPI?

FastAPI for APIs consumed by a frontend, a mobile app or another service; Django for full applications with users, forms and an admin panel. FastAPI is lighter and fits well with AI services. Django solves more out of the box in exchange for imposing its way of working.

Is Python useful for getting a job in Latin America?

Yes, especially in data, automation, backend and AI roles. People are rarely hired just for knowing Python; they are hired for solving something with it, so a portfolio of real projects carries more weight than a list of finished courses.

Are there Python courses in Spanish?

Yes. The catalogue mixes Spanish and English courses, and each listing shows the course language. A Spanish course removes friction at the start; for fast-moving libraries, such as the AI ones, English material tends to be more current.
