Testing and QA

Test while you build, not at the end.

In many teams testing is still a phase that arrives at the end, when there is no time left. Our experience is the opposite: at TintoDev automated tests are what let us change client code with confidence, and a good API test catches in seconds what a manual review would take an afternoon to find. That is why this category treats QA as part of development. We include manual QA, because designing good test cases is a skill no tool replaces, followed by UI automation with Selenium, Cypress and Playwright, API testing and pipeline integration. We pick courses that write tests against real applications, explain how to avoid flaky tests and use current versions of tools that change quickly. There is a good range in Spanish to get started, and reference courses in English for advanced automation.

Who it is for

  • People doing manual QA who want to make the move into automation.
  • Developers who write code without tests and feel it every time something breaks in production.
  • Anyone looking to get into tech through a role where judgement counts as much as code.
  • Teams with automated tests nobody trusts anymore because they fail for no apparent reason.

What you will learn

  • QA fundamentals: test case design, types of testing and how to report a bug someone can reproduce.
  • UI automation with Selenium, Cypress or Playwright, and how to write selectors that do not break with every change.
  • API testing with Postman and in code: contracts, status codes and test data.
  • Unit and integration tests from the development side.
  • Running tests in a CI pipeline so they fail before the deployment, not after.

Recommended order

  1. QA fundamentals and test case design, even if your goal is automation.
  2. API testing, which is faster and more stable than UI testing and teaches you a lot about how the system works.
  3. UI automation with one tool and its language: JavaScript or TypeScript for Cypress and Playwright, Java or Python if you go with Selenium.
  4. CI/CD integration and test strategy: what to automate, what not to, and how to keep the suite healthy.

Our picks, with comments

The courses in this category we reviewed in depth, and why we recommend them.

GenAI for QA - Masterclass in Testing & Automation [2025]

GenAI for QA is an English-language course for testers who already automate, or are about to, and want to use AI assistants to write test cases, test data and code with less effort. We would recommend it because it pairs traditional frameworks such as Selenium and Rest Assured with AI tools, instead of promising that AI replaces those foundations.

API Testing con POSTMAN : Masterclass todo en 1 (2026)

API Testing con POSTMAN is a solid Spanish-language option for learning to test and automate REST APIs with one of the most widely used tools for the job. We would recommend it to testers and developers who want to move from sending requests by hand to having collections with tests, automated runs and pipeline integration.

Bootcamp Cypress en español - Un framework desde cero (2025)

Bootcamp Cypress en español is a very practical option for learning to build a complete web test automation framework, not just to write isolated tests. We would recommend it because, according to its description, it shows errors and flakiness problems as they appear and how they get solved, something few courses teach.

Frequently asked questions

Selenium, Cypress or Playwright?

For a new project, Playwright is our first choice: it is fast, covers several browsers and handles waiting well. Cypress offers a very comfortable developer experience for JavaScript web apps. Selenium is still very present in companies with existing suites and in job posts asking for Java or Python, so it is worth knowing.

Do I need to know how to code to work in QA?

For manual QA, no; for automation, yes. Basic JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or Java is enough to start writing tests, and the bar rises as the suite grows. Learning to code is what most widens your options within testing.

Where do I start learning testing?

With QA fundamentals: types of testing, test case design and bug reporting. Then API testing, and after that UI automation. Jumping straight into a tool produces tests that check little and fail often.

How long does it take to learn test automation?

If you already code, you can automate simple flows with Playwright or Cypress within a few weeks. If you come from manual QA without coding experience, expect several months: the language first, then the tool. What takes longest is learning to design a suite that stays maintainable.

Are there testing and QA courses in Spanish?

Yes: the catalogue mixes courses in Spanish and English, and each course page shows its language. For QA fundamentals and Selenium there is a good range in Spanish; for Playwright and newer tools, the most up-to-date courses are usually in English.
